15 Run Commands Every Windows User Should Know

We must admit that Microsoft’s Windows Operating system implements many features. That’s the reason why Windows is always the first preference of every regular user as it is easy to operate and implements lots of facilities. 
Well, Run commands are one of the most useful things we can talk about. Previously we have shared an article in which we have listed few methods to 
create your own run commands in Windows operating system. 
In this post, we are going to talk about ten useful ‘Run’ Commands that will help you to open anything. You just need to enter these commands in the Run command box to quickly access features and applications to customize operative system environment. 
 
#1 “\” 
This command will open up your C drive. Next time if you need to access the C drive in your computer simply press WINDOWS KEY+R and then just enter ‘\’ and it will open up the C drive for you. 
 
#2 “.” 
This command will open up the user’s home folder. By opening the home folder you can access Downloads, Documents, Desktop, Pictures, and Videos. This is the easiest way to open the Home folder. 
 
#3 “..” 
Well, the above commands open up the user’s home folder. This one will open up the ‘Users Folder’ in the C drive. If you enter this command in a Run box then you will be able to select the ‘Admin’ and ‘Public’ Folder. 
 
#4 Calc 
This command may be familiar to many. This will open up the calculator. Well, if you need to open the calculator you need to go through Start Button>Accessories>Calculator which seems to be a dull task. However, you can use ‘Calc’ command to open up the calculator immediately. 
 
#5 netplwiz 
If you need to open up the advanced user account settings then you just need to enter the command ‘netplwiz’ . Well, the other way to open up Advanced User Account settings is by going through control panel which is bit lengthy process. 
 
#6 diskmgmt.msc 
The command ‘diskmgmt.msc’ will open up the disk manager. Disk manager lets users clean things up on their system. You can create the new partition or can clean existing partition by going through disk management. 
 
#7 notepad 
Users can open up notepad by typing 
‘notepad’ in the run box. The other way to start notepad is to open the start menu and then selecting the notepad. However, typing notepad in a run box will help users in urgency. 
 
#8 stikynot 
This will open up Sticky Notes. Sticky Notes will be useful if you want to note down anything. Word documents or Notepad takes time to open up. However, Sticky notes stick to your desktop which makes it simple to note down anything easily. Users can use ‘stikynot’ to open up the Sticky Notes. 
 
#9 control.exe /name Microsoft.Troubleshooting 
If anything is not working fine on your computer, you need to troubleshoot that specific thing. Troubleshooting will possibly repair or find any existing fault on your computer. Users just need to type in ‘control.exe /name Microsoft.Troubleshooting’ in the run dialogue box to open up the troubleshooting setting. 
 
#10 write 
This command will open up Wordpad on your system. Simply type in ‘write’ on Run dialogue box to open up the Wordpad. 
 
#11 Powershell 
Well, Powershell is the task automation and configuration management framework from Microsoft. This is much similar to the command prompt (CMD). On the run Dialog box, just type PowerShell and enjoy the features. 
 
#12 perfmon.msc 
This is known as performance command. This command can be used to check and monitor the performance of your system. You just need to open up the run dialog box and then type in perfmon.msc to monitor the system performance. 
 
#13 Control 
Well, in windows 10 opening the control panel is a bit complicated. However, you can open the control panel with Control command. Just open the run dialog box and enter “control” without the quotation mark. 
 
#14 hdwwiz.cpl 
To open the device manager in Windows, you need to go through various steps. However, you can use hdwwiz.cpl command to open the Device manager on your computer directly. With device manager, you can find all the connected device and can manage them. 
 
#15 osk

The big milestone test that Qualcomm has conducted is the first 5G data connection on a single 5G modem chipset for smartphones. The chipset in question is the Snapdragon x50 , a modem Qualcomm announced last year. 
The test took place in Qualcomm’s San Diego labs, and saw the device achieve 
1 gigabit speeds , using a number of 100MHz chunks of 28GHz spectrum. When the full spectrum of 5G frequencies is available, the chipset should be able to achieve speeds of around 5 gigabits, a whole order of magnitude faster than your home internet connection. The FTC, for the record, classifies high-speed broadband as 25Mbps, about 200 times slower than the 5 gigabits 5G should be able to achieve. 
From here, Qualcomm’s roadmap aims for carriers to test 5G in 2018, with the first networks to go live in 2019. In order to help carriers test, Qualcomm has released a “reference design” smartphone for the first 5G device. It should let carriers test 5G tech in real-world scenarios, which is going to be vital for developing the technology. 5G relies on using wireless spectrum with a much higher frequency than cell networks do today. It means faster networks, but also new problems with signal and radio waves. At 28GHz, something simple like your hand can completely block the signal. For carriers and phone makers, testing 5G radios and antennas on a real phone that gets carried around and help by real humans is a very crucial step.

Chinese scientists have come closer to develop this faster wireless communication channel that would be accessible in the next six years. They have already made progress in creating full-colour emissive carbon nanomaterial dots (F-CDs) to provide the light to transmit data.

F-CDs, on the other hand, provides faster transmission of data. New nanomaterial introduced by Qu’s group of scientists can emit all light visible to the human eye. This is an innovative development in fluorescent carbon nanomaterial field. 
 
Qu further added that this breakthrough this essential in the development of Li-Fi which he anticipates will enter the market in the next six years. 
 
  
 
Chinese tests in 2015 showed that Li-Fi can reach speeds of 50 gigabytes per second. The technology began to make waves after scientist Harald Haas of the University of Edinburgh discussed it in a 2011 TED talk. It has been viewed 2.2 million times. 
 
Technologies based on Li-Fi are currently being developed by several companies in Russia, Mexico and around the world. Li-Fi offers lighting innovators the opportunity to enter new markets and drive completely new sources of revenue by providing wireless communications systems.

WhatsApp is now blocked in China

Wikipedia, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and many Google services are currently blocked in mainland China. WhatsApp has been partially-blocked in the past (for a while, video chats and some other functionality wasn't working), but now the entire service seems to be non-functional. 
The new block is disrupting all aspects of the service, including normal text messaging. It's not hard to guess the reasoning for this move; WhatsApp is one of many services that support encrypted messaging, which by nature makes government surveillance difficult or impossible. The block has caused many Chinese users to switch to WeChat, a popular messaging service in the country. WeChat is owned by Tencent, a Chinese tech company that often accepts information requests by China's government . 
Facebook did not respond to The New York Times for comment. This likely puts a dent in Facebook's plans to expand more services into the country, especially considering Facebook and Instagram were already blocked.</div>

How To Upgrade Your Device To Android 8 Oreo

While we are still awaiting the officially released of Google eighth operating system called Android Oreo later this year, owners of  Google Pixel, Google Pixel XL, Google Pixel C, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P can now enjoy the latest update on their device. The update which is still at its beta stage, will be made available via Over-the-air to all device soon. 
For owners of the device listed above, you can get the new update via two methods. First is Over-the-air update and the second is Flashing your device to get Android Oreo and in this post, we will be sharing with you both methods.

1) Over-the-air update 
 
This method is the easiest and very much simple to accomplish. First you need to sign up for Android Beta Program <a href="https://android.com/beta">HERE</a>, and press "Enroll Device" under a compatible handset. Doing this, will push Google to search for a software update for your device. You should noted that it could take up to 24 hours to get you the update if it is your first time signing up to the Android Beta Program. Once this is done, you will get a notification of the update in your device and then you can process to download it to your device.  
 
 
2) Flashing your device to get Android Oreo 
 
The second method is more technical and involves you flashing your device, unlocking the bootloader there by wipe your device. Before you proceed, back up your smartphone by going to “Settings”, navigated to “Backup & Reset” and then click on it. Also don't forget to set both “OEM unlocking” and “USB debugging” to the “on”. 
 
 
After this is done, go to “about phone”, and scroll down to where “build number” is listed. Click this box seven times and you will see a new option called “developer options call on this. Now head over to this site<a href="https://developer.android.com/preview/download.html">HERE</a> and download the corresponding Android O images of your device. The file is over 1GB so instead of waiting proceed to the next step to download<a href="http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979&utma=248941774.236267929.1403796127.1403796127.1403796127.1&utmb=248941774.4.10.1403796127&utmc=248941774&utmx=-&utmz=248941774.1403796127.1.1.utmcsr=google%7Cutmccn=%28organic%29%7Cutmcmd=organic%7Cutmctr=%28not%20provided%29&utmv=-&__utmk=25906750">ADB installer</a>. This will install all of the necessary files to allow your PC to communicate with your phone and as well help send the new Android Oreo software to your device. 
 
 
After download ADB installer, a new window will pop up asking if you want to install ADB and Fastboot. Simply press Y on your keyboard to agree and then press Y again to Install ADB system-wide. It will ask you to install device drivers do this and then click restart now to reboot your PC. 
 
 
Plug your phone into your computer and after you have successfully download Android O image for your device, click to unzip the file and the extract it. With your phone still plugged into your computer, power down your phone and  then restart it in fastboot mode, open up the folder on your PC where you extracted the Android O image to. Click into the folder and then locate a file called flash-all.bat. Double click this to begin installing onto your device. The process will take about five minutes and you will have successfully installed the new Android O on your device. Please note that there’s no progress bar to indicate the download process is on so you just have to wait and you will be greeted with the latest Android O interface.
