26 Really Cool Google Features You Probably Don’t Know About
If something is not on Google, then it is something that does not exist. The Mountain View company, which was founded in 1998, has evolved from a simple directory of websites that had by then a whole cluster of applications, online services, and companies that it is difficult to escape.
Its base, though, remains the search. But although we see every time we open a new tab in Chrome, and we use many times throughout the day, we do not always know to take full advantage of that little text field waiting for our keywords. So, first of all, we have to know what things you can ask Google.
It may possible that some of these tricks or special features you already may know, but, others may not. In any case, this is a list that we want to collect all the possibilities that leads to Google beyond to offer you a simple list of results and make access to the information that you need even in the much easier way.
Some “Hidden” Apps
Stopwatch: Do you need to calculate the time and do not have a watch? Simply, type “Stopwatch” in Google, and see a clock placed above the results.
Countdown : The same applies if you want to lead a countdown. Write “Countdown” or “Timer” and Google will display above results a clock ready to start a countdown.
Metronome : You never know when you’ll need a metronome. So Google has already built one that you can activate by typing “Metronome” in the search field.
Calculator (Normal and scientific) : As we all know that we already have on Calculator on our computer and mobile but sometimes we need it little faster, so, simply go to Google. Just type “Calc” Google will display above results a calculator, even it also works if you enter the concrete operation in the search field like “84/2”.
Currency conversions : If you are doing online shopping then many times you may notice that often changing between the dollar and some other currencies. To make it easier, you can ask directly to Google, with the amount. For example, “250 dollars in rupees”. You can also use the abbreviation of the currency bank ( “250 USD in EUR”).
Conversions of measurement units : In the case of measure conversions, values are fixed (not as currency). You can find them as in the above (for example, “50 inches in centimetres”) and get the change in the usual way. But if you use Chrome, try typing the measure directly in the browser address bar, and see that one of the autocomplete results is already switching to another unit of measure.

Football results : It is very hard to live without knowing how was your team in the Champions League or who is facing in the next game of the league? Write “results” followed by the name of the sports in the search bar and have all the information right there.
Movie listings: If you prefer the cinema, then it is a quick way to know what movies are being projected in your city. Type “movies” followed by the same, and see a list of movies over the results. Clicking on one of them, plus, you will see the cinema where it is going on and the hours of the different sessions.
Biography of an author: For those who want more than read, Google keeps another little secret: write “books by” followed by the name of a writer for example “books by chetan bhagat”, and you will see his/her biography in a special format.
For Travelers
Weather forecast:: The first thing to look before going to do travel, to know what you have to put in the suitcase. You can do just by typing “weather” followed by the name of the city in the search bar.
Flight information: Whether you want to see you take a flight in a few hours, or you waiting to pick up someone at the airport, Google also has information that may be useful. Enter the flying code in the search field and you’ll see a small tab on it: route, time of departure and arrival, whether or not it is delayed, airport terminal, etc.
See the highlights of a city: With the Internet and some mobile apps, it is very easy to find information about any place that you plan to visit as a tourist. But want all the info and attractions instantly then simply type “attractions” followed by the name of the city (Example: “attractions Kolkata”).
Looking Through Your Stuff
Locate your airline tickets : Assuming Gmail to keep receipts of your airline tickets purchased on the Internet, you can find them on Google itself. Simply type “my flights” in the search field and see a summary of your next air travel (obviously only visible to you).
Locate your reservations : Similarly like airline tickets, if you are having any hotel reservations in Gmail, then you can simply make them available through a simple search on Google, putting “my hotels” in the search bar.
Review your purchases : Another thing you can check on Google, your most recent purchases on the Internet, as it will provide all the purchased receipt that are stored in Gmail. Simply write “my shopping” and see a list of them.
Find your mobile phone :
Do you know Android Device Manager? It is the function integrated into the mobile operating system from Google that allows you to locate lost devices. But you can also search on Google, simply type “locate my mobile” in the search field. Yes, it will ask your password again.
See your photos in the cloud: One last personal thing that you see on Google, your photos, that you synced in the cloud. To do this, simply write “my photos” or “my pictures”.

See what time it is anywhere :

Do you work with people on the other side of the planet? Do you have a family across the pond and want to know what time it is before you call him/her? You can ask Google with a simple text just type “What time is it in” followed by the name of the city, and ready.
See what falls on any given day :: If you are planning a vacation or a trip, you might like to know on what day of the week the festive will fall. Well, you can ask Google, by typing the name of the festive along with the year (Example: “Christmas 2016” or “Good Friday 2017”).
Calculate distances : How many kilometres between two cities? very easy to calculate, just ask Google with the phrase “A to B”, where A is a town and B is another. You will see a mini-window Google Maps with the route marked, the number of kilometres and what would it take to make the drive. If there are also flights between the two sites, Google will include them in the results.
Knowing the age of any famous personality: We know that celebrities love to lie about his/her age, but simply Google it if it gets difficult. Just type “age” followed by the name you want.
Know your IP: Although there are other ways to find out your IP address, a quick search on Google with “my IP” will return the public IP with which you are currently navigating.
Other Cool Stuff
Flipping a coin :
Heads or tails? If you do not have a handy coin to decide something crucial, Google can lend you a hand. Type “flip a coin” in the search, and you will have a virtual currency available to use it for heads or tails.
Rolling a die: Much like the currency before, Google also has given this feature, because you never know how much you need one. All you have to do is type “roll dice” and have one six virtual faces ready to use.
Fun Facts: Fun facts are little pearls of knowledge that Google shows you in a special format whenever you enter “fun facts” in the search field. For example, did you know that Venice has 118 islands connected by 400 bridges and 170 boats?.
Google in 1998 : This last trick allows you to make a quick trip to the past. Type “Google in 1998” and then you will be able to see that how Google actually look like in past 1998.
