Facebook has added another feature to it instant messaging App Facebook Messenger . This would help you minimize the data loss while using Facebook Messenger, especially outside WiFi coverage. The Facebook Messenger Lite also does the same job but without the data saver option.

After enabling this option, the data saver will show a click to download option for videos as well as images sent to you when conversing. In other words, you can manually download them instead of them downloading automatically to your device to save data. But those using WiFi, it automatically downloads.

This feature is not yet accessible for everyone as it is still in testing stage.
